Governor Orval Faubus called out the Arkansas National Guard the night before to, as he put it, “maintain and restore order…”. The soldiers barred the African American students Little Rock Central High School is located at 2120 Daisy L. Gatson Bates Dr. in Little Rock, AR. The visitor center is opposite the school building on the northeast corner of Daisy L. Gatson Bates Dr. and Park St. The visitor center is open year round from 9:00am to 4:30pm with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day.
